An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, caring and highly motivated therapy radiographer to join the Operational management team, working as the Pre-treatment Operational Superintendent at our Sutton branch of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Our Pre-treatment clinical environment currently includes a Mould room, Siemens Confidence CT scanners; Virtual Simulation using Raystation, much of which is radiographer led by the advanced pre-treatment radiographers.

This role requires someone confident in leading the team in advanced pre-treatment imaging techniques including breath-hold (VIBH) and 4DCT for SABR, SRS/T, IMRT, VMAT. The ideal candidate will have significant pre-treatment experience at advanced level, with knowledge and experience of cannulation and contrast administration. A large focus of this role moving forward will be the use of multi-modality pre-treatment imaging, the trust has recently installed a new Siemens Sola MRI scanner with functionality for Radiotherapy imaging. A key part of this role will be to work collaboratively with Radiology to develop this service and the skills of therapeutic radiographers, to provide cutting edge imaging techniques for radiotherapy planning.

We are looking for an individual who feels passionately about Pre-treatment and can lead the team. As a manager, you will need to demonstrate good organisational skills; have experience of managing people with the ability to work flexibly and have a high level of personal resilience and problem solving. The expectation is that the individual who will be successful in this post will be keen to implement change and embrace developments within the industry internationally, which will necessitate developing key relationships with multi-professional networks both within the Trust and externally. Key working relationships will be with clinical oncologists, radiotherapy physics, radiology and treatment and pre-treatment radiographers, as well as the wider MDT to provide high level patient care throughout the patient pathway. The post holder will support the on-going professional development of staff and maintain their own portfolio of advanced practice. The post holder will also contribute to maintaining the radiotherapy BSI accreditation and ensure that all patients receive an outstanding quality of service as demonstrated by our CQC report.

The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
