As the Advanced Pharmacist (Technical Services), you will be accountable to Lead Cancer Pharmacist. Your main role will be to supervise and manage the Pharmacy Aseptic Unit and homecare team. With the National Aseptic Implementation review in progress this is a great time to lead our pharmacy aseptic service. You will be expected to provide the strategic leadership necessary to ensure that the aseptic service meets the demands of the local community. You will also lead the team in preparing for the EL(97)52 audits and play a vital role in maintaining the Aseptic Unit quality system. Your duties will also include the preparation and approval of controlled documentation and training of various grades of staff. You will be part of an active multi-disciplinary team that provides aseptically dispensed medicines to patients within haematology, oncology, clinical trials, urology, rheumatology and other specialist clinical areas across Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust

The successful candidate will have experience in good interpersonal, leadership and managerial skills. It is also essential that you will experience within a cancer services/aseptic role in a hospital setting. You will need to have excellent communication with the team and be able to work unsupervised to meet specific deadlines. Excellent team-working is also a priority and will contribute to service development and innovation within the aseptic team, driven by your own initiative and enthusiasm. The post will be offered at Band 7 as a developmental post for candidates that do meet the criteria with the view that they will progress on to Band 8a position after 1-2 years in post.
