Band 2 Domestic Assistant

We currently have opportunities in our Domestic Services Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital for enthusiastic, motivated individuals.  The Domestic Services team have responsibility for ensuring that standards of environmental cleanliness are maintained and we are seeking additional Domestic Assistants to carry out these duties within our hospital. Previous experience of working within the cleaning industry will be beneficial but it is not essential as the successful candidates will receive on the job training and supervision. Uniform/protective clothing will also be provided

The Health Board offers excellent working conditions including a generous entitlement of paid holiday, enhanced pay for weekend working and an opportunity to join the Superannuation Pension Scheme


We are offering permanent contracts of employment and have a number of the following posts available:


  1. Full time posts (37.5 hours a week) – 12 mid day to 8 pm – working 5 days per week on a rota to include weekends  
  2. Part time posts (20 hours a week) – 4pm to 8pm -  working 5 days per week on a rota to include weekends  
  3. Part time posts (27.5 hours a week) – 10am to 3.30pm - working 5 days per week on a rota to include weekends  
  4. Part time posts (28.5 hours a week) – 8pm to 6am – working 3 nights a week on a rota to include weekends
  5. Part time posts (17.5 hours a week) – 12 mid day to 3.30pm – working 5 days per week on a rota to include weekends  

Rates of pay are £9.50 per hour, with enhanced rates for work undertaken on a Saturday, Evenings (£13.49 per hour) And Sunday (£17.38 per hour)
