We are actively promoting flexible working options, helping you to manage a work /life balance
Are you an experienced Band 6 looking to further your career, or already a Band 7 and wanting a change of scenery and the opportunity to further develop your skills? Look no further! We are seeking applicants who are currently looking for the next step in their careers, who are highly motivated, willing to develop their skills and want to join our dynamic and
caring team.
The University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust is based across three sites in the exciting, multicultural city of Leicester, in the heart of England and has robust transport links to all parts of the country. It has a lively city centre with restaurants, bars and shopping.
The Trust is one of the largest tertiary cardiac departments in the UK providing a full range of standard and complex, invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests, and routinely performing complex interventional techniques on adult and congenital patients at the Glenfield Hospital
site.

Later this year, the East Midland Congenital Heart Centre will move from Glenfield Hospital to the Leicester Children’s Hospital into purpose built facilities within the Leicester Royal Infirmary, including a paediatric catheter lab and pacemaker clinic. The successful post holder will be expected to work across both sites as part of this role to support the adult and congenital invasive and pacing clinic services.
As a local specialist provider we implant over 900 pacemakers and over 200 ICD’s per year, including 150 biventricular devices which are all followed up in our devices clinic.
In addition we have two dedicated EP labs where we perform over 700 procedures per year including complex AF and VT ablation using the Carto, Precision and Rhythmia mapping systems.
Candidates will have BHRS accreditation or IBHRE/NASPE exam and a minimum of three years post BSc (or equivalent) qualification experience. The successful candidate will work on a rotational basis between the devices clinic and the angiocatheter suites on both sites. You
will manage your own daily caseload and assist in the development of all areas of the cardiac rhythm management service.
We are looking to attract a candidate who is both inspirational and motivational and who can contribute to the education, training and development of junior members of staff.
Applicants are required to have good organisational skills and excellent interpersonal skills and will be required to work as part of a team in this busy department. In return we are able to offer access to training and development opportunities and a wide variety of procedures.
There may also be the option of being involved in our non-physician ILR implanting service for the right individual.
We are a progressive, enthusiastic team waiting to welcome new members and actively encourage continued professional development.
Participation on the on call rota is a key requirement of this role. The Trust is working towards 7 day working so the successful applicant will be expected to work weekends, bank holidays and evenings as part of their shift patterns.
