Viaduct Care CIC is Stockport’s GP Federation and represents all of its local GP Practices. Covering a patient population of circa 315000, practices are grouped into 7 Primary Care Networks with each serving a population of around 30,000-60,000 patients.

Viaduct Care represents the collective voice and interests of its member practices and aims to influence and support the design and delivery of major service and system changes by being a strong and effective partner with other major service providers.  As part of this we want to ensure that capacity, capability and sustainability within general practice is effectively increased so that Stockport is recognised as a great place to work for those already employed within the primary care sector, but also attractive for those considering a career in this area.

Established in 2018, Viaduct Care is thriving in the Stockport community with over almost 200 staff working across the borough in our high achieving Acute Home Visiting, 7 Day Access, First Contact Physiotherapy, Wellbeing and Self Care and Integrated Pharmacy Teams. All supported by a highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic central Corporate Team.

We are now looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, hardworking individual to join us as our Director of Operations. This is a new role which will work alongside our Medical Director and Finance Director, under the leadership of the Chair and Vice Chair. You will be the senior manager within Viaduct Care that will oversee all operational aspects of company strategy, help set strategic goals and be responsible for the flow of operations information to the Committees and Board.

The Director of Operations is an Executive role and will provide strong transformational and strategic leadership at a senior level to ensure Viaduct Care is seen as an effective leader across Primary Care within Stockport. This role will be required to sit on the Board of Directors so the person fulfilling the role must be eligible to be a Company Director.

Furthermore, the role will be responsible for ensuring development of business plans, policy and strategy for major areas of activity, ensuring their effective implementation, that stakeholders are engaged, and that the required contributions to corporate policies and strategy are made.

The post holder will be expected to operate independently and to possess and utilise specialist, in depth knowledge and experience in the areas of strategic operations, procurement, service redesign, operational management, provider management, performance management, budget management, partnership development / working and the management of staff to deliver the key areas of responsibility.
