The Department of Paediatric Plastic Surgery provides secondary care for the population of southern and central Birmingham, tertiary care for the West Midlands and Supra Regional care for Burns, Cleft and Cranio-Facial Surgery. There is a close working relationship within the team and a very supportive and educational environment.

This post will include ward rounds and trauma list commitments. The successful candidate will be attached to one of the 3 firms within plastic surgery; burns, ears and craniofacial surgery/ cleft surgery and hand surgery and will rotate between these firms dependent on preference, availability and educational needs. The post includes a 1 in 7 or 8 full-shift on call commitment in plastic surgery. The successful applicant will be encouraged and supported to participate in audit/research.

This is a senior middle grade post with responsibilities, training and experience equivalent to a Specialist Trainee. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate previous experience in plastic surgery to at least the equivalent level of an St3 trainee in plastic surgery with previous experience in the management for hand trauma and burns.
