Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Acute Medicine

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant to join the Endocrinology and Diabetes team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The post is to replace an existing colleague within the department, who is retiring, and aims to address increasing specialty needs across Antenatal diabetes care, Renal diabetes care and inpatient diabetes care and support ongoing service development. The post is a substantive post for 10 PAs, supporting an existing team of clinicians.

The post-holder will deliver clinical care pathways and work with our existing colleagues across Diabetes, Renal Medicine, Specialist Medicine and Surgery and Obstetrics to unify pathways of care and tackle unwanted variations in practices.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is one of the largest NHS Trust in the country and the UK’s first academic health science centre (AHSC), in collaboration with Imperial College London. The Trust has an annual turnover of over £1 billion, approximately 11,000 staff and it sees over 500,000 patients a year.

The post holders must hold Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview. Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
