Clinical Support Worker Band 2 - Sexual Health

We are looking to recruit a full-time (37.5hrs per week) Band 2 Clinical Support Worker to join the expanding team in this busy sexual health department. The clinics are based in Exeter city centre and surrounding locality areas. Applicants for this post need to be able to manage a demanding workload, and have the flexibility to work within the needs of the service, to include some evenings and weekend work.

Working under the supervision of qualified nursing and medical staff, the post-holder will assist in the care of patients within the department and carry out general duties to enable the effective running of clinics. This will include a range of clinical and non-clinical tasks, such as: chaperoning patients during clinical examinations and procedures, undertaking venepuncture, stocking clinic rooms, ordering clinical supplies, filing results and entering data.

Previous experience working in sexual health or any related health field is desirable but not essential as training can be given. However, an ability to deal professionally and sensitively with the general public is essential. We work with a diverse range of patients, and the post-holder must be non-judgmental with excellent communication skills, and a positive, self-motivated attitude.

  • Non-judgmental, positive, self-motivated attitude, with a good understanding of confidentiality
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to undertake venepuncture or willingness to undertake training
