An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Therapy Technical Instructor (TI) to work in the citywide Community Falls Service.

This is a great opportunity to join the Community Falls Service as we explore new ways of working and develop innovative pathways to support older people to maintain their independence and reduce their risk of falling. The service working hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm.

As a Therapy TI you will complete independent visits to patients in their own home. The service is a multi-disciplinary team so you will also work alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. You will be responsible for:

• Supporting the Therapists in providing falls prevention and management interventions to older people in the community
• Teaching, supervising, monitoring and progressing falls prevention home exercise programmes and mobility practice
• Fitting and teaching the correct use of basic mobility and activity of daily living equipment

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have experience of multi-disciplinary working with older people. You must have previous experience of community working in the NHS in a patient facing role, ideally as a therapy assistant with experience of exercise provision.

The level of check required is dependent upon the position that you have applied for. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost from your salary. There will be no charge if you are enrolled in the DBS Update Service.
