An opportunity has arisen for two highly motivated and keen individuals to join our dynamic and forward-thinking finance team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust as Financial Management Accountants as the Trust embarks on a period of positive change.

We are looking for ambitious individuals who have the ability to work independently and within a team, who are proactive and possesses strong communication skills. Organisation skills along with sound financial and analytical expertise are key in these roles to support the finance function in achieving the wider Trust vision and goals.

The successful candidates will be supporting two of the operational areas within the Trust which will include the Operational Area budget holders and key Business Unit staff in promoting efficient and flexible management of resources. This individuals are required to hold excellent accuracy skills to ensure the integrity of data is maintained in line with Trust’s reporting procedures.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the timely production of monthly financial reports, performance/speciality packs and variance reconciliations.
  • Ensuring significant monthly variances are investigated prior to report distribution, follow up any queries post budget holder meetings and complete month end reporting.
  • Verifying the accuracy of coding to ensure that management information is correct
  • Holding a robust understanding of service areas and providing a level of challenge and scrutiny by attending monthly budget holder meetings.
  • Assisting in the annual budget setting process.
