We are looking to recruit reliable and enthusiastic Nurses to join our motivated, friendly and hardworking team of Clinicians based in Bicester, Oxfordshire to support the smooth running of our 999 service.


The Role;

Working within this role you will carry out complex clinical assessments over the phone in a sensitive manner providing advice and information in line with clinical assessment software, whilst utilising your own knowledge, experience and professional judgement and referring to other services where appropriate.

This is an exciting, challenging and extremely rewarding Band 5 role with a view to progress to Band 6 on completion of our development programme which includes one day a month of bespoke CPD training to enable you to feel confident in your new specialty. Topics will include telephone assessment skills for injury and illness, mental health assessment over the telephone, paediatric emergency’s and courageous conversations.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current NMC registration
  • At least 6 months post registration experience
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Good level of computer literacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively over the phone

Desirable Requirements:

  • Motivated towards further professional development

Successful candidates will be required to complete a nine week fulltime training programme at commencement of post which is fully paid. This covers internal systems, NHS pathways assessments and call centre mentoring.

As well as offering a great basic salary of £25,655 - £31,534 pro rata, Candidates will receive the following unsocial allowances on top:

All day Saturday (midnight to midnight) as well as any week day after 8pm and before 6am – Time plus 30%

All day Sunday and public holidays (midnight to midnight) – Time plus 60%

We are offering a variety of hours from a minimum of 20 hours a week up to Full Time hours of 37.5. Candidates will be required to work a variety of shifts which may include nights, weekends, bank holidays and religious holidays.
