An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time permanent Band 4 Senior Secretary within the General Surgery Department at NDDH. This post is for 22.5 hours a week, preferably worked over three days.

As a successful candidate, you will have to provide efficient and pro-active secretarial/admin support to the Consultants and other team members.

Applicants need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to prioritise and adapt to constant demands on the workload as well as be able to demonstrate the ability to work as a team member. The post holder is responsible for carrying out medical secretarial administrative duties, adhering to policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service, and to be able to deal efficiently and courteously with patient and staff enquiries. Proven Medical Secretary experience within an administration team is desirable.

Essential skills required for the post include: good typing and audio skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, effective time management skills, good IT and secretarial skills, clinic management, good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
