The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E) provides Acute and Community services across Exeter and East Devon serving a population of more than 450,000 people. In our latest CQC full inspection of our services, the RD&E received an overall rating of “good”. We were rated as “outstanding” for our Emergency and Critical Care services, and for Caring Trustwide.

Are you interested in clinical skills education and training and would like an opportunity to join us in the clinical skills team? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Clinical Skills Team with a role that entails working on a range of clinical skills training programmes designed to support newly registered healthcare professionals. Examples include: venepuncture and cannulation, IV therapies, supporting updates for clinical skills.

We are a small team full of energy and enthusiasm to deliver high standards of training across all sites. We use a range of methods to teach including, classroom based, ward based and practical scenarios. You will preferably have some experience of teaching but more importantly an interest in education and be willing to work alongside others in a positive and encouraging way. You will play a key role in developing the clinical skills required for our workforce for the future.

The Professional Development team are located in the innovative and award nominated Research, Innovation, Learning and Development (RILD) building in Exeter which provides state of the art facilities for healthcare education and clinical research putting it at the front of worldwide healthcare innovation. This post will be supporting staff across the whole of the RD&E geographical area.
