Specialty Doctor in Sexual and Reproductive Health

This post provides an exciting opportunity to join the Devon Sexual Health Service, providing integrated sexual healthcare across Devon (excluding Plymouth)

Our service operates from 3 principal sites: Barnstaple, Exeter and Torbay and a range of community settings throughout the County.

Devon Sexual Health is committed to providing accessible services of the highest quality, using innovative service delivery models.

We have strong links with Exeter Medical School and Peninsula Medical School and have a track record in postgraduate teaching and training.

Devon Sexual Health staffing includes GUM/HIV Consultants, an SRH Consultant, Associate Specialists and Specialty doctors, GP trainees and Foundation doctors, dual trained nursing staff, a specialist pharmacist, dedicated administration staff with a supportive and transformative management team .

The post holder will be based in Barnstaple and associated North Devon outreach clinics but will have links with the wider DSH Team. Study leave is supported and encouraged.

Our teams of care professionals work with patients and their families to support peoples’ independence, health and wellbeing. We provide support to avoid hospital admissions, and if an admission is necessary, we try to make each patient’s stay in hospital as short and effective as possible before working with them on a safe discharge home.

According to many clinical targets, we rate as one of the best performing non-foundation trusts in England, because we treat patients in line with national waiting time standards, have very few hospital-acquired infections and meet our four-hour waiting times for urgent care. We have a huge range of clinical expertise that we share across professional spheres to ensure people get world-class care when they need it.
