Outstanding Career

Come and use your skills to create and shape our Diabetes Dietitian service!

You will be a key member of the Dorset County Hospital Diabetes Multidisciplinary team, helping to build our new transition service from scratch. You will also take responsibility for the existing secondary care services; clinics, antenatal, new Type 1 pathway, BERTIE structured education and inpatient care, teaming with a dietitian working at Enhanced level to deliver these services. The Transition service is much needed and you will make it happen. The other secondary care services are established but you will have freedom to innovate where there is opportunity to improve patient care.

You will work with a fantastic and forward thinking team of Diabetes Consultants, Specialist Nurses, Administrators, Podiatrists, Healthcare Assistants and Psychologist. You will be based with them at the Diabetes Centre at Dorset County Hospital in the beautiful County town of Dorchester. You will also be part of the Trust’s Dietetic department, benefitting from easy access to and peer support from Dietitians working across a range of specialities. The Dietetics department is committed to staff wellbeing and development, offering a range of CPD opportunities.

Applications for full time and part time are welcome as are return to work applications. You will need to be experienced in Diabetes care, including pump, CGM and flash technology and have ideas of how to engage with the transition cohort. You will also need to be skilled in leadership and change management. The work will be at Advanced Level as per the BDA Diabetes Competencies.
