We have a CQC rating as good overall and we have some key areas of outstanding practice with an outstanding rating for being well led at every level.

Buildings, names and models of care have changed over the centuries, but one thing has remained constant and is prevalent among our 5,900+ staff members: the enduring commitment to providing the best health and care for the people of Bolton.

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist interested in a full-time vacancy working with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties. We will accept suitable applications from newly qualified therapists and experienced therapists.

If successful you will join our dedicated team of Paediatric Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants working with a paediatric case load in a range of settings including nurseries; clients’ homes; early years’ team; community clinics; mainstream primary schools and primary and secondary special schools. Our Traded Service is continuing to expand year on year and your role will also involve working with this team in mainstream nurseries and schools providing universal and targeted sessions.

You will need to be able to assess children using a wide range of informal and formal assessments; provide verbal and written advice; devise therapy programmes and be able to train nursery and school staff in the implementation of these; provide written advice which could be used towards Education and Health Care Plans (EHCP) and annual reviews. You will also be required to work collaboratively, within a range of settings, with a range of professionals including early years support workers, nursery and education staff. You will therefore need to demonstrate good communication, interpersonal, organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.

Clinical supervision is provided through joint work with other team members; team meetings; case note audit and clinical supervision sessions with highly specialist SLTs and peers and through appraisals.
