An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a committed and progressive team in Barnsley working as a Band 8A Lead Podiatrist based at Barnsley Hospital.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic, forward-thinking HCPC registered Podiatrist, with relevant, clinical knowledge and skills in Diabetes wound care.

To act as clinical lead, in the management of the diabetic foot and lower limb, for secondary care liaising closely with the Community Lead Podiatrist for diabetes and the high risk foot care.

Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary diabetes specialist team within secondary care and providing specialist advice and support, on diabetic lower limb complications, to all professions within secondary care and primary care in Barnsley.

You must provide a high quality patient centred service to prevent lower limb morbidity and treatment of diabetes associated lower limb pathologies, with responsibility for the development and delivery of diabetes education packages for patients and staff.

To assist the Podiatry Services Manager and the Service Manager for Medicine at Barnsley Hospital in planning, developing and implementing diabetes strategies in line with national and local targets and guidelines

Staff will be supported with appraisal, CPD and a comprehensive induction program which includes involvement with other Podiatry services in Barnsley.

This full time post (37.5 hours) is based in Barnsley General Hospital and may include community sessions in Barnsley.
