Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1m people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We are currently looking for a band 5 Staff Nurse to join us on Ward One Snibston Stroke Unit at Coalville Community Hospital.

Ward One is a 18 bedded ward with 16 beds providing sub-acute care and rehabilitation to patients following a stroke and 2 general medicine beds.

The team

You will be joining a team made up of 38-40 Nursing staff, together with a multi-disciplinary team comprising occupational health, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and advanced nurse practitioners as well as the support of a Stroke Consultant . The team works closely together and there is an opportunity to develop and learn a range of new skills as well as impart your knowledge and experience to them.

The Role

The role will involve:

Responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidence based nursing care to a group of client/ service users.

Assisting and contributing in the management and organisation of a ward/ clinical area.

Actively contributing to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing care.

Actively participating in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.

Acting as a clinical and professional role model, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement within the clinical area.

Working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of clients/service users and their families.

Maintaining high quality, compassionate care and well-being service for patients.

The team

We offer training and personal development within the ward and at our Learning and Development Centre to ensure you have the knowledge/skills to meet patient needs and complete your revalidation CPD requirements. You will be supported through a programme of training to ensure you are able to meet your clinical and leadership requirements to provide safe and effective care on the ward.

You will be working on a rotation of days, nights and weekends.
