This is a part – time fixed term placement to support the Waiting List Management Programme until 2022.The opportunity is available to an enthusiastic individual with experience and knowledge of problem solving in relation to data quality, analysing and cleansing data.

Duties will include delivery and development of data quality reports to ensure successful implementation of new processes and contributing to the development of systems to achieve accuracy.

We are looking for a candidate with strong technical skills, attention to detail and well-established problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will also have a positive attitude and the ability to consider the experience of colleagues in the services and understand the impact of this, and the below:

  • To support the implementation of strategies to improve and maintain data quality.
  • Clearly articulates the expected standards of the service, monitors and identifies where standards are not met and takes action to address.
  • To provide a comprehensive Data Quality Service by:
  • Supporting any data quality assurances processes, for example working with Internal Audit.
  • Participating in and coordinating action plans arising from data quality audits ensuring full participation from key individuals
  • Developing, implementing, producing and monitoring a suite of highlight complex data quality reports across the organisation.
  • Participating in action plans arising from data quality audits ensuring full participation from key individuals.
  • Developing and implementing methods to monitor data quality outside their own team and across the organisation where proposal, development and implementation of these methods may require a high degree of sensitivity.
  • Providing support to services where data quality issues are found; analysing highly complex information and business systems, formulating action plans in conjunction with services and overseeing the progress of these.
  • Monitoring services to ensure compliance with national data quality standards e.g. completion of the NHS number, reporting on compliance and escalating where necessary.
  • Maintain standard data items and reference data for the Trust.
  • Promoting the importance of data quality across the organisation, providing compelling and relevant reasons why services should engage with data quality initiatives.
  • Report data quality performance to Executive Directors and the Trust Board through mechanisms such as the Data Quality Badge Report
  • Participating in template reviews
  • Managing standard ad hoc data quality issues such as mark in error requests or record issues
  • Perform standard data quality improvement exercises
  • Support the Data Quality Manager with ongoing data quality projects carrying out actions as laid out in project plans.
