NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group is responsible for commissioning high quality health services for a population of approximately 305,000. We work closely with providers of health services, local government, regulatory bodies, voluntary and carer groups, patient representatives and the general public to achieve the best health and care outcomes possible and to ensure high quality, safe and effective services.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Primary Care Contracting and Commissioning Team.

This role will support the CCG’s Head of Primary Care Commissioning and Contracting to provide direction and leadership for the planning, management, delivery and improvement of commissioned primary medical services delegated to the CCG by NHS England. This includes the commissioning, procurement and management of primary medical contracts, overseeing all aspects of delivery and performance management.

The post holder will have experience in all matters pertaining to the contracting and commissioning of primary medical services. Professional knowledge of several disciplines is essential, including contracting legislation, regulatory frameworks, performance management, NHS procurement standards, statutory governance, financial management, service Improvement and leadership, risk management and management of change.

The role will contribute to the delivery of Bolton’s Strategic Estates Plan, ensuring that primary care services are delivered from a property base that is fit for purpose in terms of location, configuration and specification. The post-holder will lead on the development of primary care strategic estates bids, advising and supporting practices as necessary, demonstrating a clear understanding of potential funding sources for any future investments and maximising opportunities to access appropriate sources of capital.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work under their own initiative within a complex environment dealing with matters which often may be contentious and sensitive.
