Band 2 Administrative Assistant

Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP)

(£18,546 to £19,918)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Admin Assistant to join our well-established team. These will mainly involve providing administrative support for the secretaries and clinical staff in the Memory Service, based at the Bennion Centre on the Glenfield Hospital site.

This is a full time, permanent role and the service required working hours are Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm.

The ideal post holder will have a proactive ‘can do’ attitude and demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust’s values of Compassion, Integrity, Respect and Trust.

The following are key requirements:

  1. GCSE English Language – Grade C or above or equivalent
  2. Strong typing skill or equivalent experience.
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
  4. Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  5. Good organisational skills.
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  7. The flexibility to cover for colleagues in different locations is essential.

Other role requirements are:

1. ability to prioritise

2. remaining calm under pressure, especially on the phone

3. having a sensitive, professional approach towards our patients with mental health problems, are essential, as there will be face to face patient and public contact.

The role will also involve liaison with patients and their families / carers using the service, as well as a range of professionals from both voluntary and statutory agencies.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, these are set in advance at a team level and you will join an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date.
