Emergency Department Assistant - Band 2

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Emergency Department Assistant to join our motivated and dedicated team here at the Royal United Hospital Emergency Department in Bath. The successful candidate will undertake portering, technical and general support duties for the Emergency Department of a routine or non-routine nature to meet the demands of a busy department providing a 24-hour service.

You must be able to demonstrate that you have excellent people skills and that you are able to work under pressure. The successful candidates will cover shifts over a 24 hour period.

Approximately 75,000 patients a year attend the Emergency Department, with average daily attendances of 210 attendees and approximately 70 admissions into the Hospital via the Emergency admission system. The successful candidate will receive education and training in how to assist in the safe transfer of patients throughout the hospital as well as how to help with the smooth running of the department.
