An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3, Health Care Support Worker to join the Basingstoke Older Persons Mental Health Community Team

The team is a highly supportive and innovative team that aspires to provide a responsive, safe, effective, caring service that is well led.

Older Peoples Mental Health Services is looking for a motivated health care support worker to provide and deliver skilled interventions to older people with mental health needs within the Basingstoke district. The role involves providing post diagnostic support to those diagnosed with dementia, supporting individuals to feel included in the community, to continue to manage their own wellbeing and independence at home and provide support and signposting to families and their carers.  To be a successful member of our team you will need to be motivated, passionate and have a genuine interest in working with older people and be able to demonstrate a real commitment to providing high quality and compassionate care to patients and their families. 

In return you will receive support and training to develop your skills and knowledge including the completion of the Care Certificate, be a participant in reflective practice, journal club. You will be supported through regular supervision and the yearly appraisal framework alongside the peer support network. There are opportunities to be involved in lead roles within the team and participate in the development of service transformation.

The post holder will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy and have effective time management skills. You will play an important role in the team as we deliver excellent patient care and develop our services in line with national and local drivers.
