Research Nurse Band 6

15 hours per week .Fixed Term contract of 12 months

We are seeking a Band 6 Research Nurse to be part of Research & Innovation working within our Neurosciences Research Team !

This post is being funded by the BRACE charity .

BRACE funds world class clinical and laboratory research into Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia to find better treatments, achieve earlier diagnosis and one day, a cure.

BRACE’s role often involves funding pilot projects and other initiatives that fall outside the policy guidelines of other funders, but which are subsequently found to be worth every penny. It also provides core costs for key clinical and laboratory teams in Bristol, helping to create the stability that long-term success depends on.

We are looking for someone with a background /Interest in Neurosciences/Dementia care within the clinical/ research environment

The post holder will work to support the senior research nurse and other team members.

The post holder will primarily be responsible for the screening, recruitment and ongoing management of research participants in a range of Dementia research studies . However there is an expectation that the post holder will work across the Neurosciences portfolio as required and also may be needed to work on urgent public health studies , as dictated by national needs.


Your qualities:

  • Registered nurse with current professional registration
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organised and self-motivated.
  • Recent post registration experience in Neurosciences /Dementia care and research projects.
  • Able and willing to work flexibly across a number of projects
