The Leeds Community Equipment Service's role is to provide daily living and nursing equipment for people to use in their own home. Once the service user has no further use for the equipment it is returned/collected, cleaned, refurbished and then reissued. new equipment is also purchased.

Leeds City Council is the lead provider for Leeds Community Equipment Service and Telecare Services, although Leeds Community Healthcare employs most of the staff.

The clerical officer post will provide administrative support with the business support team, carrying out duties such as answering calls from healthcare professionals and service users, using the in-house system to schedule deliveries and collections and to raise requests as required, as well as any other suitable duties as requested by managers.

The service is a seven day a week service. The post will require working a rota pattern of 37.5 hours weekdays across a range of 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm shifts.

The ideal candidate will have experience of a busy office environment. They will be compassionate and understanding, as they will often be taking calls from clients or family members in difficult circumstances. They will work well under pressure and will have strong multitasking skills.




If you are successful in being offered a position which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The level of check required is dependent upon the position that you have applied for. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost from your salary. There will be no charge if you are enrolled in the DBS Update Service.
