We have an exciting opportunity to expand our Psychosocial Team within HMP Bullingdon. As part of this expansion, we are looking for an experienced Psychosocial Recovery Worker (Substance Misuse).

 

This is an opportunity to work with individuals who have complex offending backgrounds. Working in prisons can be challenging as well as rewarding and this opportunity is a fantastic chance to make a positive difference to the lives of people who are often disadvantaged and vulnerable.

 

  • You will be able to demonstrate skill and experience of providing evidence based psychological / psychosocial interventions geared towards supporting service users to make positive changes and work towards recovery.
  • You will be highly motivated with the ability to support and inspire.
  • You will be enthusiastic about working within an ever-changing prison environment.
  • You will work to assist service users to progress through their sentence and onto their resettlement in the community.
  • We welcome flexible working and will consider part-time applicants.

 

HMP Bullingdon is a Category B closed prison which houses sentenced adult males and also those on remand, this allows for work to be varied between, quick timely responsiveness for those on remand and a more planned intervention of care and support for those of the sentenced adult population. HMP Bullingdon serves the courts across Thames Valley and has a capacity of 1100 and is a working prison where learning opportunities are widely available to help the men on release.

 

About the Role

As a Recovery Worker, you will need to have a sound knowledge of substance misuse and the barriers and issues faced by those affected. You will need to be confident in managing a caseload of people with complex substance misuse difficulties.

 

The post holder will benefit from the experience and support of the team and that of its NHS employer. Inclusion (part of Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) has prison substance misuse and mental health teams across the country and you will benefit from training and development opportunities as well as the support of an NHS employer experienced in providing prison healthcare for many years.
