Vacancy – RGN / Operating Department Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered General Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner at Tetbury Hospital to work as part of the Outpatient Department team.

Tetbury Hospital has a generic outpatient and day surgery unit, which deliver services across seventeen different medical and surgical specialities. The clinics are consultant led, and the Registered Practitioners are required to work across these specialities.

The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to care for patients who attend the Outpatient Department as a Registered Practitioner, while following relevant policies and procedures as laid down in National and Local policies.

In this role you will be required to work as part of a team across multiple different medical and surgical specialities; providing relevant forms of care without direct supervision whilst maintaining a safe working environment.

The post holder will be an ambassador for the Trust, delivering care in an efficient, patient focused and professional way.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will be a First Level Registered Nurse /Operating Department Practitioner with experience of working in a similar setting. They will be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical skill, good professional development and up to date knowledge.

Holding a teaching and assessing qualification would be beneficial but being able to work as part of a team and autonomously is essential. Previous OPD experience in Minor Ops

Skills, Phlebotomy, ECG and preoperative assessment and screening would be desirable.

The Package

We can offer flexible hours up to 30 hours per week, with an hourly pay rate of between £12.56 - £15.62 P/hr. This role is a Grade I (NHS Band 5 equivalent). A pay award is pending for this role.

The Hospital offers staff benefits which include pension scheme (continuation in the NHS pension is possible subject to pension rules) and a starting full-time holiday entitlement of 25 days holiday (plus Bank holidays).
