The majority of our emergency care and complex surgical care is based at Warrington Hospital. The Halton Hospital site is home to the Nightingale Building, a centre of excellence for routine surgery, and the Captain Sir Tom Moore Building, housing our orthopaedic surgery services.

LAS CST in General Surgery (Urology)

Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust would like to invite applications for a fixed term LAS CST post in General Surgery until 3rd August 2022. The successful candidates will join a dynamic and enthusiastic surgical team providing high quality care to the population of Warrington and Halton.

The clinically lead CBU structure builds on the excellent working partnerships between the medical and surgical teams to provide high standards of care.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop in a role with close workings with a Senior Management team across a clinically led Division. This is ideally suited to candidates:-

  • Planning a career in Surgery and looking for the support and training required to apply for formal training

This post forms part of a 1:10 full shift.

There are 10 audit meetings every year and all clinics and theatre are cancelled for the morning so all staff can attend.

Each team presents their own mortality and morbidity data for the previous month.

This is followed by audit presentations by Consultants and trainees.

You will have the opportunity to undertake audits for the division.

A charge of £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order (as amended) and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
