Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) is a national centre of excellence in the provision of specialist children's health care, currently delivering the widest range of specialist care of any children's hospital in the UK.

We are looking to recruit Senior Performance Manager as part of the Performance Team within the Clinical Operations Directorate, who can work closely with our NHS Clinical Divisions, Trust Executive Team and the Head of Performance.

This will be an exciting and varied role covering the breadth of Trust’s performance agenda. Suitable candidates must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of the NHS performance agenda, have operated at a senior management level previously, able to evidence a high degree of analytical and data skills and be able to articulate key lines of enquiry in resolving challenges and presenting those clearly to the appropriate audience (from clinician, to Senior Management Teams to Trust Board).

This role will work alongside another Senior Performance Manager, supported by a Performance Officer.

The role will be responsible for:

  •  Provide strong visible leadership and expertise within the Trust, in partnership with Clinical Divisions, on matters relating to performance standards.
  • Work closely with clinical services, operational and informatics colleagues, the successful candidate will bring excellent technical and analytical skills, and knowledge and experience of using data and information to understand and support clinical services.
  • Undertake and present complex analysis of performance information and intelligence across the Trust to influence decision making and highlight financial and operational risks of performance trends.
  • Plays a pivotal role in the design, development, production and delivery of comprehensive business intelligence reporting and processes.
  • Have experience of modern Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik Sense or Power BI
  • Lead and facilitate trust wide initiatives to improve performance, ensuring that processes and pathways work effectively across Directorate, Trust and local health economy boundaries.
  • Lead on the production and analysis of the Integrated Performance Dashboards for specific Clinical Directorates,
  • Lead on a defined portfolio of performance measures across the Trust in collaboration with the rest of the Performance Team
  • Lead on the development and on-going improvement of the Trust’s Integrated Performance Dashboard for the Trust Board and Clinical Directorates
  • The post holder acts as a subject matter expert in interpreting guidance or instruction from NHS England, Department of Health and others to ensure it is applied effectively across the Trust to support the performance framework.
  • Deputise when appropriate for the Head of Performance and / or Chief Data Officer
  • Proactively communicate and provide assurance to external partners and regulators, including commissioners and NHS Improvement
  • Due to the evolving nature of the performance agenda, this position requires an adaptable, forward thinker with strong communication skills.
