There is a strong emphasis on teamwork within the multidisciplinary team at Brighton & Hove Clinic, which provides CAMHS Tier 4 service for young people aged 12-18 years with a prime diagnosis of eating disorders and who may have other mental health conditions.

Working 30 hours a week alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing the social care needs of service users and will act as the principal provider of quality social work services to address needs outlined in their care plans, which will see you support young people with complex mental health and psychological needs.

As you build individual rapports to support people to engage in their care plans, you will support in creating plans that encompass the needs of service users alongside other workload activities to help promote recovery.

You will have previous experience from the NHS or private care, as you manage a complex caseload where you will be responsible for social care assessments, risk assessments, facilitate group activities, and will contribute to meetings, supporting service users to make viable plans for their future.

Your responsibilities

  • To take the lead on safeguarding referrals and the subsequent liaison with the Local Authority safeguarding team and LADO
  • Ensure that patients have access to independent advice on financial legal and advocacy matters
  • Conduct and provide reports on clinical audits
  • Review and evaluate regularly with the social work team the service offered to ensure the service provided meets the needs of the patients and is in line with social work practice

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Knowledge of social policy and expertise in social work practice to bear upon the needs of the service users
  • To meet the standards set out in the General Social Care Councils Code of Practice for Social Care Workers
  • Be registered with Social Work England
  • Minimum of 4 years post qualification experience
  • Experience within a forensic Mental Health service
