This is an exciting opportunity to join an integrated team to improve Quality within all mental healthcare organisations commissioned within Hertfordshire and West Essex. The post holder will have responsibility for supporting the Quality teams in East and North Herts CCG (ENHCCG), Herts Valley CCG (HVCCG), West Essex CCG (WECCG) and the Integrated Health and Care Commissioning Team (IHCCT) by ensuring there are robust mechanisms in place to demonstrate continual quality service improvements.

The role will primarily have the responsibility for providing mental health related clinical expertise and support to commissioners. This will include reviewing and analysing complaints and serious incidents, triangulating available information, undertaking quality visits to commissioned services, and making decisions on mental health related individual funding requests, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that are value for money when making decisions. It will also involve input and leadership regarding the quality related elements of the contracts for commissioned services including Quality Schedules.

This role will support quality improvement by working with mental healthcare providers commissioned in Hertfordshire and West Essex to ensure the development of a culture of learning arising from patient safety and experience issues.

The post holder must be able to plan and prioritise their workload effectively, work to tight deadlines and demonstrate excellent organisational skills. It is essential that they are a team player who demonstrates a flexible approach to work and can multi-task as required.

This role will be based at Charter House, Welwyn Garden City and Farnham House Stevenage, with travel to HVCCG and WECCG as well as to provider bases. The post may require at times the ability to prioritise one specific locality to address key risks whilst maintaining support to the other areas of the ICS geography.

The position of Quality Manager (Mental Health) requires completed course of doses of authorised vaccine for Corona-virus as to enter care home(s).

The Regulations come into force on 11 November 2021. Applicants are advised that under the Regulations, from 11 November 2021, it is a legal requirement that anyone entering a care home must have completed a course of doses of an authorised vaccine, subject to certain exemptions as detailed in the Regulations. Applicants are further advised that where applicable, appropriate evidence of an individual’s vaccination status or any clinical exemption will be required in order to enter the care home[s] from 1 November 2021.
