This opportunity has arisen in the breast imaging department which covers two sites across Surrey and Sussex, the East Surrey acute site and the Crawley Hospital site. There is a Hollogic mammography unit at East Surrey Hospital, which has Tomosynthesis capability as well as vacuum biopsy. The Imaging Department also has in its portfolio a GE digital mammography unit which is based at its sister site in Crawley Hospital. There are multiple dedicated one stop clinics are currently held across both the Crawley and East Surrey Hospital sites. The Breast Imaging department has two dedicated breast Ultrasound rooms at ES site and two rooms at the Crawley site.

The Consultant Radiographer or Advanced Practitioner will ideally be expert in all areas of breast imaging, including ultrasound, biopsy and image interpretation, however consideration of individuals experience will be looked at . They will manage a clinical workload working independently alongside a team consisting of Consultant Radiologists and fellow Consultant Radiographers providing a complete diagnostic service. Regular attendance at the Breast multi-disciplinary team meeting is expected and this goes hand in hand with the One Team ethos of the trust where there is a good working relationship with the Breast Clinicians and Clinical Nurse Specialists and other members of the breast team.

Ideally the person appointed will have previous experience working as a Consultant Radiographer or at Advanced Practitioner grade and is used to making clinical decisions. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our forward thinking and friendly team, exploring new ways of working and further developing a radiographer led service.
