Advanced Dietitian

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist dietitian to work with our friendly dietetic team at Warrington and Halton Teaching hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and proactive dietitian, with excellent clinical, communication and team working skills. You will be responsible for the nutritional management patients referred to the trust with suspected and diagnosed Oesophago-gastric cancers. The post will be based at Warrington Hospital.

The role involves developing and providing inpatient and outpatient services to this complex patient group, including assessment, treatment and review of highly complex, acutely ill and palliative patients within the upper GI Multi- Disciplinary Team.

Clinically, the role involves cover for oesophago-gastric cancer inpatients, dietetic telephone clinic, and attendance at Upper GI clinics alongside the Upper GI MDT, which includes gastroenterologists and specialist nurses.

Operational responsibilities include monitoring referrals and activity, prioritising caseload as necessary, evaluating activity, responding to service demands. The department in actively involved in student training placements and there is scope for the successful applicant to contribute to this.

You will be actively involved in the development, implementation and audit of patient care practices as part of clinical governance. We actively promote and encourage continuous professional development and have good access to IT and library facilities.

This post is a part time, 12month fixed term temporary role, 22.5 hours per week.
