Theatre Practitioners

Obstetric Surgery Scrub and/or Recovery Practitioner - Poole Hospital

With the new management team in place and focus on quality, transformation and service development, we are looking for motivated people, to join our expanding theatre department to enhance the Obstetric Theatre Team.

We offer great opportunities with an extensive educational program, to include the development of Surgical First Assistant (SFA), Anaesthetic Practitioners, and leadership and management development opportunities.

We pride ourselves on our friendly working environment and our desire to lead on Best Practice in the perioperative setting. If you have the knowledge, skills, experience and drive that we are looking for to join our friendly and supportive team, then Poole and Royal Bournemouth theatres is the place for you.

Working with multi-professional colleagues in a busy theatre department, you will be flexible and have experience of working in an operating theatre setting. In the Operating Theatre Department there are a number of other specialities including; head and neck, trauma & Orthopaedics, paediatric day case surgery, vascular, urology, general, gynae surgery, anaesthetics and recovery.

We encourage dual or multi-skilled practitioners, however training is available to facilitate development. Your peers, anaesthetists, surgeons and senior staff will support you to learn new skills and to expand your practice

You will be either a:

  • Registered Operating Department Practitioner, Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse , who has recent experience across a range of specialities including obstetrics and emergency surgery. Experience of working in more than one area (scrub, recovery, or anaesthetic assistance) may be advantageous.

Please note: if this job requires you to have a DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed from your salary.
