Are you an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor looking for a fascinating role, working alongside the military, that offers numerous benefits and opportunities for career-development in an excellent team?

You will provide autonomous Specialist Practitioner advice on all Occupational Health (OH) Matters; ensuring the development, delivery and on-going review of a comprehensive OH Service, for both Military and Ministry of Defence (MOD) entitled civilians.

The position is offered at 30.5hrs per week.

Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

Management

  • Managing and prioritising own workload efficiently and effectively.
  • Participating in the development of key occupational health nursing policies and procedures. Producing reports when required

Teaching/clinical supervision

  • Assisting in identifying training needs and coordinating the assessment of nurses undertaking the practice elements for Occupational Health specialist practitioner course.
  • Mentoring Nurses and pre-registration students undergoing training.
  • Managing the provision of cost efficient Health Promotion and Health education programmes relevant to the needs of the employer and individual clients.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Essential Criteria

  • Registered General Nurse – Part 1 and Part 3 Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)register (exceptionally may be on Part 3 only) Specialist Practitioner Occupational Health Nursing – degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in occupational health practice in a variety of settings with 3 years at National Health Service (NHS) Band 6 or equivalent.
