Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, we became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan and Salford, we deliver hospital and community based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centres across Bolton, to a catchment population of 320,000 people. An exciting fixed term/secondment opportunity has arisen at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust for an EPR Application Support Clerical Officer to support the current clinical systems currently implemented within the Trust.

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is a major provider of hospital and community health services in the North West Sector of Greater Manchester, delivering services from the Royal Bolton Hospital and also providing a wide range of community services from locations across Bolton. The Trust received a “Good” overall rating from the CQC in July 2016. The Royal Bolton Hospital is a major hub within Greater Manchester for women’s and children’s services and is the second busiest ambulance-receiving site in Greater Manchester.

Working as a member of the team, the successful applicant will provide support to clinical and non-clinical personnel for the preparation, implementation and delivery of new solutions and processes and provide expertise across the organisation. You will support IT system users in the adoption of new and existing IT systems, working with suppliers, project team members and operational staff and managers to ensure continuity and a smooth system changeover.

Main duties for will involve the creation, updating and amending of Clinical System login accounts, adding and amending ward functionality, recurring or specialist, editing and formatting patient label and letter templates, updating administrative errors and advising staff on correct procedures. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the EPR Project Team and other IT staff to ensure a smooth running of business as usual whilst the EPR system is underway.

Currently based at Royal Bolton Hospital, successful candidates will have a flexible attitude and be expected to cover the core hours 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, as part of a shift pattern to a maximum of 37.5hrs per week
