You will lead by example and inspire those around you to provide exceptional care and operational and clinical excellence on the ward. As part of the management team, you will work with colleagues and senior leaders to lead your team and achieve CQC outstanding.

The Ward

Bracken Ward is part of our women’s secure Blended Service, providing assessment and stabilisation initially and then progressing patients on to a treatment ward where they remain with us until they are ready for discharge to the community. Our blended service has been part of a national NHS pilot that has successfully transitioned patients straight to the community from our medium secure service.

You will be trained in Trauma Informed Care to join our team and provide excellent care to our patients.

The role of the Nurse Manager/WardManager

You will have managerial and operational responsibility for your ward and all aspects of performance. Your effective day-to-day nursing leadership and operational management will be key to maintaining excellence across all areas of nursing and care. There is also plenty of scope for innovation as we’ll expect you to lead processes to improve the quality and operational management of your wards even further.

What you will need for this role

You will have management experience ideally in a deputy manager, manager, or senior leader position, andwill bea strong communicator who can lead by example,implementnew procedures and embed existingpractices with a team.A positive outlook, strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills are vital. We want our Managers to inspire teams and set a clear and compelling vision, so you’ll need to be able to influence and support everyone around you and be enthusiastic and positive about change.
