An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist at Potters Bar Community Hospital in-patient rehabilitation unit. Oakmere Ward serves patients in the West Hertfordshire area, and is a general rehabilitation ward. Most of the patients are on a 17-day pathway, and have general rehabilitation needs such as falls and fractures, amputation etc.

We are looking for a band 7 Occupational Therapist to take on a fixed term contract or secondment, to cover maternity leave. This is expected to start in December 2021. This role will involve sharing leadership of a small team of Therapists and Rehabilitation Assistants, with the Band 7 Physiotherapist. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who is passionate about helping patients to improve their quality of life and helping staff to develop in their roles, and who can collaborate well with the team.

You will be working with a dedicated multidisciplinary team that includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Doctors and Social Workers.

This post is 37.5 hours per week. There is seven-day working on the unit, and you will share any weekend shifts with the other job share post. The weekend rota is expected to be 1:6.
