The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe and a leader in the field of cancer care with a successful record of innovation in nursing care, pioneering new treatments and the development of anti-cancer drugs. It is an exciting time to become part of the RMH Endoscopy team with the coming development state of the art Endoscopy Oak Centre at Sutton RMH and future expansion of Chelsea RMH site.
The Endoscopy practitioner/nurse role provides an invaluable patient focused service, working within the clinical units of the hospital. The main responsibilities will be assisting in minor to major endoscopy procedures, supporting the endoscopy preassessment, working as part of the decontamination team, supervising the endoscopy decontamination technician and junior practitioners in the decontamination process and assisting in clinical procedures. One important aspect of the clinical role is to ensure that individual is working in accordance with JAG Standards in the endoscopy department.
There are training opportunity for all the RMH employees as part of our vision to develop a well led workforce in providing a high quality service at this leading specialist centre which prides itself on clinical excellence.
We are looking for candidate who is enthusiastic and experienced, willing to learn, who enjoys patient contact and working in a multi-disciplinary environment to support the delivery of a quality service. You must be able to demonstrate good clinical skills, good communication skills, flexibility, and reliability and have an organised approach to work. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to have the flexibility of covering cross sites services.
We are looking for a dependable and highly adaptable individual who is able to work as part of the endoscopy team and has the ability to fit in and proactively contribute to the existing team.
This role is an excellent opportunity to develop your endoscopy skills in a fast moving and dynamic department within the NHS.

Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.

The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
