There has never been a better opportunity to take a step into the education of medical staff as the Trust becomes a University Hospital. We have an opportunity for an experienced manager whom would like to add to their portfolio some experience within education to support a maternity leave cover as we seek to recruit a part time Medical Education Manager to work in the Medical Education Centre. Our success is underpinned by the skills and enthusiasm of our staff and a strong culture of partnership working among all staff at the Trust. We are looking for someone who has a passion for leading quality education and is ready to be responsible for the day to day management of our Medical Education team that work together to:

  • Support the creation of an excellent educational environment that nurtures and develops doctors for the future
  • Deliver quality training an learning opportunities that meet set standards through harmonising service and training to maximize educational opportunities within the clinical setting and the training room
  • Develop a culture of educators, supporting and developing Doctors as Trainers
  • Support the continual professional development of all Doctors and Dentists with in KGH and supporting regional training programmes

The post holder will possess excellent communication and organisational skills as well as experience of undertaking management tasks involving business planning, financial management, service improvements and project development. The post holder will be required to produce and monitor reports and undertake checks on educational quality standards and be proactive in preventing issues occurring. You will need to of had leadership and management experience and the ability to provide high standards of work by acting as a positive role model and mentor.

This post includes responsibility for both undergraduate and post graduate medical education, with direct support from the Director of Medical Education.

Together with the Head of Learning and Education you will also be responsible for the management of the Prince William Education Centre, must have strong interpersonal skills, experience in managing staff and a drive for innovation and quality improvement. The Medical Education Manager will be expected to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans for securing excellence in the delivery of medical education and improvement of the educational experience for undergraduate and post graduate trainees as well as the medical workforce.
