We are currently looking for a band 5 Staff Nurse to join us on Ward One Snibston Stroke Unit at Coalville Community Hospital.

Ward One is a 17 bedded ward with 15 beds providing sub-acute care and rehabilitation to patients following a stroke and 2 general medicine beds.

The team

You will be joining a team made up of 38-40 Nursing staff, together with a multi-disciplinary team comprising occupational health, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and advanced nurse practitioners as well as the support of a Stroke Consultant . The team works closely together and there is an opportunity to develop and learn a range of new skills as well as impart your knowledge and experience to them.

The Role

The role will involve:

  • Responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidence based nursing care to a group of client/ service users.
  • Assisting and contributing in the management and organisation of a ward/ clinical area.
  • Actively contributing to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing care.
  • Actively participating in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.
  • Acting as a clinical and professional role model, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement within the clinical area.
  • Working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of clients/service users and their families.
  • Maintaining high quality, compassionate care and well-being service for patients.

The team

We offer training and personal development within the ward and at our Learning and Development Centre to ensure you have the knowledge/skills to meet patient needs and complete your revalidation CPD requirements. You will be supported through a programme of training to ensure you are able to meet your clinical and leadership requirements to provide safe and effective care on the ward.

You will be working on a rotation of days, nights and weekends.
