We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Staffing Bank to provide weekend cover. This is a casual contract covering Bank hours Monday-Sunday 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm.

The Manchester team currently consists of over 500 colleagues and we are rapidly expanding as we increase the scope of services we provide across our experienced and dynamic teams.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Discuss and agree with colleagues’ capabilities and competencies in order to ensure best practice across the therapy team.
  • Compare current Occupational Therapy protocols, trends and developments against appropriate benchmarks implementing change when necessary.
  • Explain clearly to patients whose needs are being assessed how they can positively contribute to their treatment plan.
  • Identify people’s health needs by undertaking thorough subjective and objective assessment methods, using full Occupational Therapy clinical expertise and experience.
  • Obtain information on patient’s needs within the overall context of their Occupational Therapy and care requirements. Follow processes of specific clinical reasoning which allows optimum outcomes to be achieved promoting their return to their chosen activity.
  • Interpret patient data using all of the relevant components to formulate an appropriate programme of care. Make this information available to appropriate colleagues.

Who we're looking for

  • Degree (BSc Hons in Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
  • HCPC registered – No restrictions
  • Band 6 experience is essential.
  • NHS or private hospital experience is essential.
  • Experience of assessing,treating and supporting a range of patients/cases across the Inpatient setting
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills are key to continue our high standards of patient care
