If you are looking for a role where you can use your skills to make a difference come and join Worcestershire Community Teams – where Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Healthcare Assistants and Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nursing Associates and Administrators work together in local Neighbourhoods and alongside GPs to support people to live in their own homes.

Due to substantial investment in the delivery of care in the community we have a number of exciting new opportunities and are now recruiting enthusiastic and committed people to join us in growing and developing out of hospital care.

Where will I be working?

Our 12 Worcestershire Neighbourhood teams are based around GP practice populations in Worcestershire and are in the following locations:

  • Worcester City
  • Malvern

  • Pershore and Upton

  • Evesham, Bredon, Broadway and Inkberrow

  • Droitwich and Ombersley

  • Tenbury

  • Wyre Forest – Kidderminster

  • Redditch

  • Bromsgrove

  • Evening and nights - Countywide

You will be based at a Neighbourhood team office in one of the above locations.

It is essential that all applicants can meet the travel requirements of these posts.

The team will support you to develop skills, confidence and competence in caring for the needs of people living with long term health conditions and frailty.

Role Type: Healthcare Assistant

What will I be doing?

Your typical working day will include home visits for people needing rehabilitation focussed personal care support, caring for people reaching the end of their life in a sensitive and compassionate manner, wound care, insulin injections, catheter and bowel care. You will work either individually or as part of a double up team and report back to the nurse or therapist in charge.

Back at base, you will be involved in equipment ordering, team meetings, goal planning and handover meetings. Your input is key.

The teams operate 7 days a week between the hours of 07.30- 18.30 and shift times are variable within these hours, i.e. 07.30 – 15.30, 08:30 – 16:40, 10.30 – 18.30.

Applicant Requirements - Applicants must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.

Probationary Period - All new appointments are subject to 6 months’ probation period.

Priority of Applicants - Please note that applications are welcomed from all suitably qualified/experienced individuals. Preceptorship for Newly Qualified Staff - The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
