The Worcestershire Perinatal Mental Health Team are excited to recruit a permanent, Band 8a Clinical Psychologist, to work as part of the multi-disciplinary clinical team, providing specialist psychological treatment for our countywide perinatal service patients.

The Worcestershire Perinatal Mental Health Team is accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists;the Worcestershire Perinatal Mental Health Team is a busy, secondary care mental health service that offers a range of evidence based and NICE concordant mental health interventions to the women of Worcestershire. The team is passionate, motivated and collaborative. We operate on a Recovery based person centred ethos.

Professional development is encouraged and supported. There are strong links with the West Midlands Doctoral Training Courses at the Universities of Birmingham and Coventry/Warwick, including organisational involvement, teaching input and opportunities for specialist placements. This post offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in a multi-disciplinary team of highly-skilled, knowledgeable and psychologically minded clinicians. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an interest in, and experience of, working in a perinatal field. The candidate will have access to funding to enable perinatal specialist clinical supervision from a senior psychologist external to the Trust.

The post holder will be based in Worcester. It will be essential that applicants can meet the travel requirement for the post. Currently, because of the COVID pandemic our psychological work is being delivered in both a virtual and face to face following socially distancing guidelines as necessary.The service operates from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Preceptorship for Newly Qualified Staff - The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
