BASED AT DROITWICH MEDICAL CENTRE

IV Therapy Community Nurse

BAND 5

37.5 hours per week (Job Share considered)

Due to a member of staff relocating there is an opportunity opened up within the countywide IV Therapy service. The service is currently working towards expanding to meet the ever growing demand to help support Worcestershire patients.

The main aims of the service are to help prevent patients from being admitted into a hospital environment, and support those patients who are in hospital back to their home. This is done by setting up treatment to provide intravenous medication, mainly antibiotics within the patients home or clinic environment. There is a robust structure and governance to ensure that this is delivered safely for the patient and members of staff are supported to ensure they are confident and competent to do so.

All clinical experiences are welcome to apply, including non-community experience. We require an enthusiastic, flexible clinician who excels at being a team player and strives for the best quality of care is delivered. You must have the ability to motivate yourself and others, work autonomously in the community once competent and be keen to support other nurses with an integrated approach.

The position will predominately cover South Worcestershire, however there will be times when across County work is required to meet the demands of the service.

Weekend and bank holiday work will be required

Probationary Period - All new appointments are subject to 6 months’ probation period.

Preceptorship for Newly Qualified Staff - The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
