We are Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC)and we are looking for a hardworking, committed Civilian Dental Nurse to join our supportive and welcoming team at Dental Centre Tidworth. We are an inclusive, dedicated organisation working to provide outstanding care to our entitled personnel!

This role offers 37.5 hours per week on a Fixed Term Appointment (FTA) from successful completion of pre-employment checks until 20/04/2022 to cover Maternity Leave, see the attached document for further information on fixed term appointments.

Note that the salary will be pro-rata where part-time hours are undertaken but applications from part time or job share to cover these hours are welcome. All requests to work flexibly will be considered, taking into account business needs.

The role of DPHC is to provide and commission a safe, effectual, and efficient healthcare service for entitled personnel contributing to the maximisation of Service personnel fit for task as agreed with the single Services. We achieve this through the provision of an occupationally aware primary healthcare service which embraces dental, rehabilitation and mental healthcare services.

Essential Criteria

• Applicants must hold current registration with the GDC (please include details on any current, spent, or impending restrictions to practice)

• National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) Certificate or NVQ in Oral Health Care Dental Nursing Level 3

Desirable Criteria

• A full UK driving licence to enable working at other local military dental centres

• Evidence of indemnity cover for general dental practice

• Evidence of currency with GDC CDP requirements

• Prepared to contribute to the development of staff skills and knowledge

• Good ability to utilise Information Technology

• Be prepared to cover out of hours dental duties when required and travel to and work from other dental centres within the local area

There will be no reimbursement for any travel expenses for the interview.

Please be advised that the Department is conducting a review of all pay related allowances which could impact on those allowances that the post currently being advertised attracts.

Due to COVID 19, there is now a requirement for dental clinical staff to be fit tested for a FFP3 mask, whichhas tobe worn when managing a patient who is undergoing an aerosol generating procedure (AGP) the successful candidate will be fit tested prior to commencing employment.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Candidates who hold the qualifications but are not yet registered with the GDC are eligible to apply. However, if found successful it is a requirement that you are registered with the GDC prior to starting in the post.

If found successful for this position, you will be required to provide evidence of your immunity to Hepatitis B. Failure to provide evidence of your immunity may result in the offer of employment being withdrawn.
