General Surgery - CHUGGS Clinical Management Group

A rare opportunity has arisen for a part-time medical secretary/medical team administrator within General Surgery. This is a Monday to Friday permanent role.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a comprehensive and efficient medical secretarial service to a team of Consultant Surgeons. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of clinical correspondence and will be required to be the first point of contact for their consultants’ patients. It is therefore essential that they are a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, previous experience in a customer care environment and good typing/keyboard skills are essential.

Duties will also include diary management, answering the telephone and dealing with queries from a number of sources in a calm and pleasant manner.

The role would suit a flexible, hardworking, enthusiastic and friendly person who can remain calm and pleasant at all times. You must also be able to use your initiative and be able to work unsupervised. Experience in an administration / secretarial role ideally within a hospital setting. Salary is dependent on experience.

Your duties will include case notes preparation, telephone answering and dealing with complex patient issues, excel database entry and management, dictate IT management and MDT administration.
