An opportunity exists for a senior, experienced nurse to join the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Specialist Tuberculosis (TB) nursing team.

This job-share post has been made available due to a reduction in hours of the existing post-holder. The post exists to provide advanced clinical nursing (Masters Level), leadership and continuing overall management to the TB Nursing Service. This centralised service is provided by UHL on behalf of the health community across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland and is the sole provider of TB care for LLR.

The post holder will provide clinical and strategic leadership, including education and training in this specialist field and advance the specialist nurse role to maintain and develop the nurse-led service. They will positively influence and negotiate across organisations with senior managers and lead clinicians to implement service quality improvements. This will include evaluating models of tuberculosis service provision, and leading the development of a service that incorporates evidence-based practice with the needs of the service users in a complex area of clinical specialty with multiple stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation.

You will be a confident, effective communicator with proven leadership skills. You must be a Level 1 Registered Nurse (Adult or Child Branch) with a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience and the motivation to work autonomously in this specialist area.

The Specialist TB Nursing Service operates from our base at Glenfield Hospital across the primary/secondary care interface. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work in close partnership with multiple key stakeholders ensuring integrated, seamless care for TB patients. A car owner/driver is essential.
