In addition to transplantation, Royal Papworth Hospital has the UK’s largest Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (RSSC) and is one of five UK centres providing Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to patients experiencing severe respiratory failure. It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

Cystic Fibrosis Specialist Nurse - Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Floor 4 South

Salary: £32,306 - £39,027 (Band 6)

Full Time 37.5 Hours

The opportunity has arisen for a nurse to join the CF specialist nursing team providing support to adolescent and adult patients in this specialist service; caring for a cohort of approximately 370 patients, welcoming new patients transitioning from paediatric care and referring centres.

Care is delivered holistically in the in-patient, ambulatory and primary care setting and the specialist nurse team provide the first point of contact to patients. The specialist nursing team facilitates and co-ordinates the complex care requirements of this clinically challenging group of patients and liaise closely with the extended multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be a clinically experienced nurse ideally in the CF speciality with excellent communication and organisational skills and will be a resourceful team player. The post is within a small specialist nursing team closely aligned with the ward nursing team.

The position is 37.5 hours/week and the post holder will be required to work flexibly to meet service needs.

We will consider secondment or split role opportunities for internal candidates.
