We are a forward thinking, dynamic practice established in the Claygate Community. We have 3 GP Partners, 4 part-time Salaried GPs, 1 Practice Nurse, 2 Health Care Assistants and 2 Phlebotomists and keen to expand the scope of our MDT. Our patient list size is stable at 8000 patients. We are a training practice for Epsom & St Helier GP VTS.

We are looking for a Physicians Associate who has completed the MSc/PGDip in Physician Associate studies and gained at least 12 months experience within primary care who is interested in joining our practice.

Role specifics:

• 15hrs/wk, ideally 9am-5pm Monday's and Fridays

• 15 minute appointments

• Mix of chronic disease management, acute triage, online enquiries, health checks

• Designated clinical supervisor with daily onsite supervision

• Systems used: Emis, Footfall, AccuRx, Docman, ICE, Windows

• Salaried/hourly rates dependant on experience, pro rata £35-39k/annum

The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Providing direct clinical care for patients including clinical assessments, diagnosis and treatment under the supervision of a GP;
• Interviewing patients, taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, analysing, diagnosing and explain medical problems;
• Working with the wider practice clinical team to deliver services to meet the needs of the patients, which may include home visits;
• Consulting and referring patients to physicians, medical specialists and other health professionals as indicated;
• Recommending and explaining appropriate diagnostic tests and treatments;
• Requesting and interpreting results of laboratory investigations when necessary;
• Performing specialised diagnostic physical exams and treatment procedures;
• Instructing and educating patients in preventative healthcare;
• Conducting telephone consultations, which may involve discussing the result and implications of laboratory investigations with patients as well as dealing appropriately with routine and emergency complaints;
• Fully documenting all aspects of patient care and completing all required paperwork for legal and administrative purposes.

About The Candidate

You must be registered with the Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR) and have successfully passed the UK National Physician Associate Examination

You will:

• Have well-developed communication skills to provide treatment plans.
• Minimum 12 months experience in General Practice
• Experience of using Emis system
